September - back to school, welcome back to your Fitwoman Pilates
September is always a busy month. For some it’s the last dash to get new uniform together and get the kids back to school, for others it’s the return back home and a “sort out” after a holiday elsewhere. A big well done and shout out to everyone who grabbed a moment to add Pilates into their holiday schedule. Nothing makes me happier than seeing you maintain some flexibility and Pilates power whilst still enjoying your time away..
Being fit after 50… how Pilates can help future proof your life
Life is busy.
Looking after the home, children, (maybe parents too), still working, volunteering. Walking the dog, preparing meals, keeping up with friends, organising social gatherings, birthdays, food shop… you can see how people can forget or not find the time to invest in themselves, to get to that class or use a video to keep mobile, active, flexible and strong.
Even a 5 minute workout on holiday helps.. you are worth it..
We are constantly told the benefits of moving our body, to keeping us in good physical shape, improve our balance, keep a good posture, positive mental health, and digestion too.
This can be easier to make happen when at home but when on holiday or travelling it gets harder to keep to a routine and ironically our need for moving the body and Pilates increases.
False starts, self doubt, but thankfully I didn’t give up on creating the subscription.. read on to be inspired!
Dubai, 2013 I created masses of exercise programs for my classes and thought “ what a shame a class is done and all the planing and fabulous class is lost’.. a few years later in in the UK it was the same with my Pilates classes, and when I moved to Marlborough 3 years ago, I was aware once again I left behind clients that may still want to access “me” and maybe just maybe there were new people out there who may enjoy my classes and style too?
Weight Training
This month I’ve added weight training to the workouts!
This can include your body weight, resistance bands or using light hand weights. Think tone and lean rather than incredible hulk, we will not bulk up. We know that as we get older we naturally lose muscle mass and tone and want to reverse that process as there are so many benefits to muscle in the body.
