New year, new resolutions?

January is already a tough month where the sun doesn’t often appear, the excitement of the Christmas build up has ended, the month seems to have 90 days and then people “punish themselves” with restrictive no booze, no sugar, gruelling gym routines, no wonder we fail and feel worse about ourselves.

For me it’s about feeling happy and comfortable in my body

adding in:

  • plenty of water- we know it helps our digestion, skin and our brain to be sharper.

  • fresh air - get out, breathe deep, enjoy being in nature

  • regular Pilates - move your body, keep joints and spine mobile, improving your balance by having a good strong core, and the ability to engage your deep muscles when moving around; walking or performing additional sports. Walk taller and feel GOOD IN YOUR SKIN

  • weights. We know as we get older we lose muscle. Resistance body weight exercises in my Pilates classes all count like squats, press ups. You may like to invest in light weights to use in class or add in a short routine using 2.5/5kg dumbbells at home. I have videos to guide you in the ‘Pilates and arm toning’ category

Thats enough!

Because we are all already busy! Life admin, working, looking after family keeping on top of the house.

Let’s be realistic with what we can add in so we don’t feel utter rubbish when we fail.

IF one of your desires is to feel good in your body. To look after yourself. To be able to live your best life without focusing on what hurts, then please make TIME to add in a couple of Pilates sessions a week. There are short videos if you don’t have much time. Look at your diary and make that date for yourself because guess what?

Your health and fitness and body and happiness is JUST as important as a tidy house and the people you look after.

You are worth it, this year and every year
